GRUMMITT, OLIVE NANCE R.N. - November 14, 1920 – January 25, 2015 ~ Peacefully entered into rest at her home on January 25, 2015 in her 95th year. Olive was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Peter C. Grummitt, F.D.S., D.D.S. for 55 years. Loving mother of David (Louise) of Caistor Centre, Frank (Marylou) of Port Carling, Anne Tamlin (Cameron) of Bobcaygeon, and Brian. Olive was the cherished Gramma of Connie (Ian), Cheryl (Tony), Albert (Ashley), Mandy (Joe), Andrew (Ashley), Kerrie (Marty), Jeff (Mackenzie), and Brent (Shealaine). Olive was also the proud Great-Gramma of Calvin, Kendra, Scott, Nelson, Matthew, Abby, Mason, and Spencer. Predeceased by her parents, Annie and Edward Chase, and her siblings, Kathleen, Canon Frank S.M., and Norman Chase. Remembered by many relatives and friends in England and Canada. Thank you to all the caregivers who made it possible for Olive to remain in her own home. Olive was a graduate of Guys Hospital, London, England and proudly served as an R.N. in World War II in England. She and Peter emigrated to Canada in 1952 where they raised a family. She then continued her nursing career becoming a clinical instructor. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Friday, January 30th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 45 Russell Street West, Lindsay on Saturday, January 31st from 1:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Entombment at a later date at Fenelon Falls Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
