Obituary for Robert Bright Davey Dyke

On January 30, 2017, Robert Bright Davey Dyke passed away with his wife, Penny, and son Braden, by his side.

Robert was a conservation officer for more than 30 years with much of his work taking place in Kawartha Lakes. He loved his job. He was committed, with his fellow colleagues, to preserve fish and wildlife as well as focused on ways to protect sensitive and vital environmental areas. Good work. Good man.

He shared his love of the outdoors with his family. Through him, family and friends learned to love the gentle rocking of a boat on a summer’s night, appreciate the sunsets, love the sound of the tree frogs, dance on the shoreline at Lake Nipissing and teach kids (and Judy B) how to bait a hook.

Lessons learned – find ways to care up close and from a distance.

According to Robert’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private celebration will take place later.

Robert’s charity of choice is the United Way for the City of Kawartha Lakes. Thank you to the staff at Caressant Care on Mary St. for their many years of care.
