TORRANCE Murray (retired General Motors) ~ Entered into rest after a brief illness at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay with his family at his side, on Saturday February 18, 2017 at the age of 64. Murray was the treasured husband for 34 years to Debbie (nee Leonard). Adored son of Gladys O'Brien and her late husband Charley Torrance. Loved father of Andrew and Leila, and Justin and May. Cherished grandfather of Zurie, Saoirse and Henry. Dear son-in-law of Olga Leonard and her late husband George. Special brother of Linda McLeod (Craig) also brother-in-law to Linda Hoskin, Tom Leonard (Jamie), Patti Selby (Stephen), Kathy Drumm (Jim), Doug Leonard (Beverly), Janet Kingsley. Murray will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends and especially his “Brother” Bruce. Faithful companion of his furry friend Cookie. Family and friends are invited to call at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street Lindsay on Friday February 24th from 11:00 am until time of Celebration of Murrays Life at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Inurnment at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. If desired memorial donations to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Team, may be made at the funeral home or online at www.mackeys.ca. The family would like to express their appreciation to Community Care, Ross Memorial Hospital, all staff and volunteers who supported Murray during his illness.
