Obituary for Linda Karen Gertrude Beer (Stubbings)

Linda Karen Gertrude Beer (Stubbings)
Linda Karen Gertrude Beer
(nee Stubbings)
Our incredible wife, mother and grandmother passed away Saturday, April 1st, 2017 in her 64th year surrounded by her loved ones. She was married to Peter Beer for 43 years, where her common sense and wisdom shone through. Her quiet strength guided us. Her children Jeffrey Beer (Charlotte) and Andrea Lalonde (Randy) and her grandchildren Kayla, Joshua, Levi and Evan experienced her love and selflessness every moment they were together. Linda is predeceased by her father Vernon Stubbings (1997). She is survived by her mother Betty Stubbings (Bernard Craig), her brothers Paul Lywood (Carrie) and Ken Stubbings (Lynn), and her sister Cheryl Nugent (Wally). She will be missed by sister-in-law Marguerite Mosey (George Khaliliyeh), many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Above everything, family was the most important part of Linda's life. She was a devoted mother and valued every minute she had with her children and grandchildren. Right up to the time of her passing she always had a smile and a kiss for those she loved.

Her caring nature lead her through careers as an RN at Peterborough Civic Hospital and an educational assistant at both Grandview and Lady Eaton Public Schools. Linda was active in the community with the Bethany United Church Sunday School, Scouting, Guiding and the Red Hat Society. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed antiquing, and was never without her camera to capture the special moments in life.
Although her retirement was cut short, she never complained and faced adversity head-on. Linda never wanted to be the center of attention but always put the needs of others before herself. She felt a funeral should take place for those who never got to say goodbye. Cremation has taken place.

Family and friends are invited to Mackey Celebrations (formerly Queen Street United Church), 35 Lindsay St. N., Lindsay on Friday, April 7th, where the family will greet those present from 12:00 pm until the time of Linda’s Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sleeping Children Around the World or a charity of your choice. Online donations or messages of condolences can be made at www.mackeys.ca.
