Obituary for Jean Dougan Mark (Corley)

Mark; Jean Dougan (née Corley) – With great love and sadness, the family announces the passing of Jean Dougan (Corley) Mark. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Lakeland Village, Lindsay, Ontario on Saturday, April 15th in her 96th year. Jean is the beloved wife of the late Clayton “Bud” Mark. Loving mother of Nancy and her husband Gaylon Hudson, and Brenda and her husband David Kay. Cherished grandmother of Sara (Adam Willert) and Christopher Hudson; Jonathan Kay (Shayna), Jennifer (Taylor Morassutti) and Andrew Kay (Violante). Dearest great-grandmother of Brody and Cole Willert; Charlotte and Penelope Morassutti. Dear sister of Wilhelmine Corley, Alice Cross and Erna Johnston and special cousin to Audrey Henry. Predeceased by her loving parents Ernest and Mary Corley and siblings, Helen, Isabel, Robert, James, Victor and Richard. Loving mother-in-law Eulalie Mark and dear sister-in-law Eva and Gladys. Jean will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Jean was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her deep dedication to her family, her fierce independence, her love of sports and politics, her elegance, her tireless involvement in her church and community and her genuine caring for all. Heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents at Lakeland Village for inviting her so warmly into their caring family. Friends and family may visit at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Thursday April 20th, from 6:30 until 8:30p.m. A Celebration of Life will take place in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21st with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. If desired, donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation, Cambridge Street United Church or a charity of your choice.
