Obituary for Albert Donald Rodgers

RODGERS, Albert Donald (WWII Veteran) - entered into rest at on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay. Albert Rodgers, in his 97th year, was the beloved husband of the late Natalie (Nell) Shutka. Loving father of Carolyn and Gerald, both predeceased. Dear father-in-law of Rene (Brian). Cherished grandfather of Erin, Jeff, Alison (Evan) and Ben (Robin). Great grandfather of Courtnee, Brad, Cody, Jasper, Solomon, Aleric, Quincy, Henry and Evelyn. Survived by his sisters June Pettit and Bess McIndless. Predeceased by his brothers Clifford and Gordon and sister Eileen. Will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay, on Friday, November 3rd from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will take place again on Saturday, November 4th from 10:00 am until 10:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 40 Russell St. E, Lindsay, at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lindsay. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #67 would be appreciated by the family.
