Obituary for Murray Kennedy

Murray Kennedy
Kennedy, Murray – March 29, 1928 – November 25, 2017 – With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Cecil Louis ‘Murray’ Kennedy, in his 90th year. Devoted father of Blaine (Candace) of Brantford, Darryl (Paula) of Oshawa, Craig (Michelle) of Omemee, and Eric (Gail) of Lindsay. Cherished grandfather of Daniel, Sarah, and Lara; Samantha, Trevor, and Jocelyn; Michael and Ian. Long-time very special friend of Jean Smart of Lindsay. As an avid cattleman, Murray’s knowledge of cattle and the markets led him to know many farmers throughout Ontario in his early years as a trucker and later in his job as a livestock marketer for the United Cooperative of Ontario and the Ontario Stockyards at Cookstown. Murray’s love of old-time fiddle music took him far and wide to ‘call a square’ and he was an active member of Kawartha Antique Power, Omemee Farmer’s Club and Fenelon Old-Tyme Music Association. Family and friends are invited to call at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay (705-328-2721) on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Eden Cemetery, Cambray. Memorial donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation of Canada, would be appreciated by the family.
