Obituary for Murvin Clinton Courtemanche

Murvin Clinton Courtemanche
Courtemanche, Murvin “Court”
1920-2017
It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the loss of “Court” on Saturday, September 30th at his home. Court just 1 day before his 97th birthday, was the beloved partner of June Buckley. He was predeceased by his parents Teressa and Addison Courtemanche and brother Buster. Father to late baby Courtemanche, Gary (Janice) and Van. Loving Uncle to Fay, Troy (Linda) and Brett Green and the late Guy Courtemanche. Grandfather of David, Michael (Melissa) and Great-Grandfather of Kadance and Lorelei.
Born and educated in Norland. At the age of 16 he was a Stone Mason and at 21 enlisted in the Air Force serving 4 years. After his discharge he moved to Lindsay and became a merchant for over 40 years; owning a record and music store, furniture and appliance business and TV and appliance rentals. He installed 10 miles of wire in the Ross Memorial Hospital to accommodate the new TV rentals. Upon retirement he took up woodworking as a hobby, building beautiful furniture which he entered in a variety of shows until his passing. He also enjoyed many winters in Arizona with friends and as a superb shuffleboard player won many medals in the Arizona Senior Olympics as well as tournaments throughout Tucson. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and expanded family through June for his kind ways and fantastic sense of humor.
He “helped build” Casino Rama, Blue Heron and many casino’s in the U.S. He loved every minute there and they will surely miss his donations.
There will be a visitation at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street Lindsay on Tuesday, October 3rd from 3:00 until 5:00p.m. and 7:00p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 4th from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Norland. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online donations and condolences can be made at www.mackeys.ca
Rest in Peace Court, you deserve it!
