Obituary for Alfred Gunther

GUNTHER, Alfred Hans – Died peacefully in Peterborough at the age of 91. Born in Berlin, Alfred immigrated to Canada to work as a tool and die maker for General Motors. Alfred had a deep appreciation for the Canadian wilderness and spent many years camping in Algonquin park. He was a masterful carver and wood worker, creating unique wooden carvings, furniture and building a home in Valentia, where he met the love of his life, Barbara. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Lindsay, son Robert of London, daughters Sharon Robbins of Lindsay and Noreen Goodliff of Trent Lakes, grandchildren Milo, Neva and Willa Gunther of London, Sean Kelly of Halifax, Jessica Kelly of Baileboro, Ian Robbins of Peterborough, Matthew Robbins of Lindsay and Nathan Robbins of Montreal.
