Obituary for Nan Cross

Alice "Nan" Louise Cross (neƩ Corley) With great love and much sadness, the family announces the passing of Alice "Nan" Cross. She passed away peacefully with her children by her side at Extendicare Kawartha Lakes, Lindsay, Ontario on February 27, 2019 in her 95th year. Alice "Nan" is the beloved wife of the late George Thomas Cross. Loving mother of Suzanne Wilkinson of Burlington and Doug Cross (Edwin) of Stoney Creek. Cherished grandmother of Matthew and Michael Wilkinson. Dear sister of Wilhelmine Corley and Erna Johnston. Predeceased by her loving parents Ernest and Mary Corley and siblings Helen, Isabel, Jean, Robert, James, Victor and Richard. Loving mother-in law of Mabel Cross and dear sister-in-law of Edith and Thelma. Alice will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She will be remembered for her deep dedication to her children, grandchildren and family. Her door was always open to family and friends and was known as the "Gathering Place". She will also be remembered for her involvement in the Rebekah Lodge, IODE, Cambridge Street United Church and being a member of the Lindsay Curling Club. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Extendicare Kawartha Lakes and their support throughout the past years. Friends and family may visit at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Friday, March 1st, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A celebration of Life will take place in the chapel at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 2nd with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. If desired donations in memory of Alice may be made to Cambridge Street United Church, Extendicare Kawartha Lakes or a charity of your choice.
