At the age of 70, Bonnie James (nee Fitzgerald) peacefully entered into rest surrounded by family on Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, where she worked as an operating room nurse for over 40 years.  Survived by beloved partner Jerry Byrne, mother to Kelley James and Darryl James, mother-in-law to Sean Brooks and Robyn James, Nana to Jon, Ava, Sofia, Ivy and Dax, cherished sister to Janice, Linda, Don, Joe, and James,  sister-in law to Tom, Kathy, Jay, Linda, and Jim, step-mother to Jenni Lea Byrne and Jerra Lynn Byrne (Dan Kosick), and former spouse to George James (Sherry Jackson). Loving aunt to all of her nieces and nephews and loyal friend to so many. Predeceased by mother Dorothy Fitgerald (nee Anketell) and father John Fitzgerald.  Bonnie’s energy was infectious and she made an impact on everyone who met her.  Her bright light will live on in our hearts forever.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 1-4pm at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay Street N., with words of remembrance at 3:00pm  The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors, at Princess Margaret Hospital, Ross Memorial Hospital and the Kawartha Lakes Palliative Care community team who helped her throughout her cancer journey.
