Obituary for Carl John Stroud

“There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains.”

Carl John Stroud, 59, died on April 14th, 2019 at Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. Carl was born in Lindsay, Ontario on April 20th, 1959 to Jack and Ethel Stroud. He was a devoted son and father, a loving husband to his wife and fierce confidant to all those he chose to befriend.

Carl loved everything in nature and graduated from the Environmental Technician program at Sir Sandford Fleming College. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding his motorcycle, dancing the salsa and inventing new gadgets. Carl was loved deeply by his mother and father, Ethel (Anthony) Pinfield, Jonathan (Jack) Stroud (predeceased) and sister Lynn Stroud, his children, Tammy (Sean) Neil, Jennifer (Delvin) Goberdhan, Bradley Brewer, Ashley (Glen) Simpson, Amie Lynn Stroud, Michael Stroud (predeceased) and Zachary (Melissa Boulet) Stroud, his beautiful grandchildren, Jonathan, Evinn, Aidan (predeceased), Arlo, Liam, August and Hayden as well as many other family members and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his wife and true love, Brenda Stroud.

A memorial service to celebrate Carl’s life will take place at Mackey Funeral Home in Lindsay, Ontario on May 4, 2019 at 1:00 pm with interment following immediately after the service at Eden Cemetery in Cambray, Ontario. A reception will follow the service at 2:00 p.m. in the lounge at the Legion (12 York Street, Lindsay).
