Obituary for Carol Mildred Reynolds (Craig)

Carol (Craig) Reynolds

July 10, 1930 - March 17, 2022

Carol passed away March 17 at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay. Carol is survived by her children Craig (Kim), Joel (Cindy), Laurie (Eric), Jonathan (Lily). Grandchildren Courtney (Ricardo), Charlie, Timur and great grandson Raven. She will be missed by her brother Bob (Mary Ellen), sisters Gerda (Ken) and Sonia her many nieces and nephews and her friends.

Carol was born and grew up in Hampton and Salem. In 1950 she met Doug Reynolds and they built a house in Salem to raise their children. In 1974 Carol graduated from the Ontario Collage of Art. She had many one-woman and group art shows. She taught art classes for years becoming very close friends with her students. In 1987 she moved to the Lifford School House. She lived there for 25 years teaching art and loving life. Carol then moved to a granny flat at Laurie and Eric’s house and continued her art and teaching.

She marched to the beat of her own drum. She was always ready to go on a trip, try new food, sample a new drink, always seeing the beauty and art which were central in her life.

She loved canoeing and scrabble, smoking and scotch, music and poetry and almost any discussion about politics. Always reading and watching documentaries - as well as historical fiction - Carol was keenly interested in the world around her.

On Saturday, May 28 a Celebration of Life will take place with internment at Lifford Cemetery at 1pm., followed by a time to talk, laugh and remember Carol back at her place on Waite Rd.

Memorial donations to the John Howard Society or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made through Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay or online at www.mackeys.ca
