Obituary for Ron Scott

Entered into rest at his home in Omemee on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the age of 93.

Born in Lion's Head, Ontario, to the late William and Gladys Simpson. Stepson of the late Gerald Scott. Predeceased by his wife Joan (née Kennedy - 2017) and his first wife Alice (née Ware - 1989). Loving father of Randy (Sue), William (Donna), Sheree (Clyde), Lori (Graham), Lisa (Craig - deceased 1997). Stepfather of Debbie, Susan, Danny and Brian. Cherished grandfather of Jason (Amanda), Jonathan, Stefanie (Brandon), Brandon, Andrew (Shauna), Stephen (deceased 1982), Jake (Alyse), Ashley, Bill (Jessica), Lee, Matt (Allison), Tyler and Raymond. Adored by his many great-grandchildren. Devoted brother of Shirley Coates (deceased 2012), uncle to Penny Coates.

Both sides of his family were some of the first settlers on the Northern Bruce Peninsula in the early 1800's.

Ron was a long-time employee of the Continental Can Company in New Toronto. Ron loved spending time with his family, friends and many acquaintances delighting everyone with his storytelling and wonderful sense of humour.

He thoroughly enjoyed watching car races, boating and his treasured motorcycles.

Ron was an avid boater and loved to help his son Randy with his Salmon Charters back in the day.

He built his first cottage on Kashabog Lake and then had one on Dyers Bay in the Bruce Peninsula. He also camped with the family all over the Bruce Peninsula and spent a few years cottaging in Muskoka and at Sauble Beach.

You could always call him for help and ideas whether with renovations or mechanical issues or just a good gab and many laughs. He loved to help people and loved a good time. He was someone who loved animals and helped anyone in need.

Ron was truly a special man.
