With heavy hearts we announce the death of Daniel (Dan) Stuart Brett, son of Jillian and David Brett of Bethany, Ontario and brother to Curtis Brett (Tiffany) of Vancouver and uncle to Rowan and Marlo. Dan died on December 5th at the age of 38 at his home in Rossland BC. He lived life to the fullest and had many friends in BC and Ontario. Dan lived in the Kootenay Mountains for over 20 years where he had many loyal friends who will miss him dearly. He was a treasured grandson of Mariel Brett of Madoc Ontario.  Dan was a dear nephew to Elizabeth Shanks (Mike), Jane McQuarrie (Gord), Vicky Kiegelmann (Uwe), Sandy McQuarrie (Alecia), Patty McKechnie (Jim), Sheila McQuarrie, Dan McQuarrie (Darla), Richard Brett (Lydia), Jeff Brett (Sherrie). He shared a very special and loving relationship with his cousins, Jenny, Rob, Alex, Susannah, Matthew, Jamie, Natalie, Ian, Marnie, Allan, Drake, Laird, Lachlan, Annie, Dalton and Rhena. There was a gathering to celebrate Dan’s life in Rossland BC on Sunday, December 11. There will be another held in Lindsay on Thursday, December 29th at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay Street North, Lindsay, Ontario from 1:00pm. to 4:00pm. with words of celebration and remembrance at 2:00pm. In 2008 Dan was the recipient of a donated liver necessitated by the onset of an autoimmune disease. If desired memorial donations may be made in Dan’s name to the BC Transplant Research Foundation the BC SPCA or the Rossland Youth Action Network.
