On Friday, January 11th, 2019, Doug passed away peacefully in his 90th year with his dear wife Mary, daughter Carol (Don) and son David by his side.

Doug was a very special Poppy to Jennifer (Andrew), Graham (Tammy), Shannon, Leah and great granddaughter Jameson. Poppy leaves the family with many wonderful, happy and funny memories. Poppy was a great storyteller and loved nothing better than sharing a good joke with the grandkids.

Dad loved being outdoors, square dancing and a good game of cards.

Doug will also be missed by his sisters Grace, Eileen (Mel), sister in laws; Virginia, Ethel (Pierre), Edith, many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

As Poppy said a few weeks before he passed away "I had a great life”. It can’t get better than that.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place in late spring.
