Coombs, Elizabeth Anne (Beth) – Passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on August 20th, 2022, at the age of 69, surrounded by her family.  Beth fought a short but courageous battle with polymyalgia rheumatica and its debilitating, crippling effects.  Beth retired from the Ross Memorial Hospital after over 30 years of dedicated service as a Registered Practical Nurse, with many of those years as a workplace steward or executive member of her local bargaining unit.  Beth was a vocal opponent of cuts to local health care, and participated in campaigning, picketing and protesting when needed over the years.  Beth was an avid quilter, donating many beautiful quilts to raise money for various areas throughout the hospital.  Beth was a devoted daughter, and she enjoyed making new friends and cherishing those she had known for many years.  She was also a skilled cribbage opponent and enjoyed a good game of euchre!  Beth is survived by her daughter Laurie Hughes (Allan) and her son Lucas Roberge (Debbie), as well as her grandchildren Wesley, Jacob, Wyatt, Grace and Liam.  Beth is also survived by her siblings Eleanor DeBresser (Frank, deceased), Mike Harrington, Jim Harrington (Patti), Mary Connell (Pat), Dick Harrington (Sandy), Robert Harrington (Jacine), Pat Harrington (Robin), Margaret Grills (Ken), Laurie Slingerland (Ian, deceased), and her sister-in-law Marg Harrington.  At Beth’s request, the family are invited to attend a private interment at St. Lukes Cemetery in Downeyville.  A Celebration of Life for Beth will be held on Friday, September 2nd, 2022 at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay Street North from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, with prayers and eulogy at 6:00pm.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. to donate click here Donations and condolences may be made through Mackey Funeral Home.
