Erna Mae Johnston, After a long and courageous battle with cancer, and with great love and sadness, the family announces the passing of Erna with family by her side, at her home in Lindsay, on Saturday, October 5, 2019 in her 84th year. Erna was the beloved wife of the late James “Jim” Johnston. Dearest sister of Wilhelmine Corley. Predeceased by her loving parents Ernest and Mary Corley and siblings, Helen MacLeish, Isabel Corley, Jean Mark, Alice Cross, Robert, James, Victor and Richard Corley. Dear sister-in-law of Marie Matthews, Ethel Kerr and predeceased by Frederick Johnston. Remembered by many for her involvement in Cambridge Street United Church, IODE and a familiar face in the doctors’ offices of Dr’s. Ron Sears, Norma and Peter Gill and Duncan Coulterjohn. Erna will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Naomi Ecob and Dr. Needa Jayabalan and the many dedicated and caring PSW’s and Nurses with ParaMed Home Care Service, Lindsay. Visitation will be held at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street Lindsay, on Thursday, October 10 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, October 11 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. If desired in memory of Erna, memorial donations may be made to Cambridge Street United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society at the funeral home.
