Obituary for Faye Scott

Scott, Faye Lucille - July 3, 1929 - April 27, 2021 - Faye passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents Reta and Orville Boe, brother Carl Boe and husbands Ross Dowson and Beverley Scott. She was a devoted mother to Janice Gage-Cole (Jim), Jill McEnaney and the late Wayne Dowson; loving grandmother of Sean, Carly, Daryl McEnaney and Shelby Gibbons; and proud great-grandmother of six. She will be missed by her sister-in-law Patricia Boe and nephews, Brian and David. Born in Bowmanville, Ontario, Faye spent her adolescence in Seagrave and early adulthood in Toronto, raised her children in Port Perry, eventually moving to the Lindsay area with her late husband, Beverley Scott. Throughout her life she held a number of roles and responsibilities in the Maybelle Rebekah Lodge, Southview New Horizons Seniors’ Club and Cameron United Church. Dancing, piano, singing and baking desserts were among her enduring passions. Faye’s homemade potato salad and coconut cream pies will be missed by all. When she became a widow, Faye enjoyed packing her Oldsmobile with women friends for an event she termed “the dessert luncheon” where she enjoyed sampling an extra piece of homemade pie at the Rebekah Lodge. She lived life on her own terms and remained independent at home with the caring assistance of her many friends and wonderful neighbours, including the Worsley and Taylor families.
