George Ronald Akers,  Founder of Akers Auto Glass, passed away peacefully with his wife of 60 years at his side, at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the age of 81.  George was the beloved husband of Eileen (née Moore).  Cherished father of Reg and Shelley, Ron and Lori Lee and Karen (Jamie) Martin.  Proud grandfather of Cheryl (Dale) Egger, Rosanne (Bobbie) Lewis, Brayden, Brook, Richard (Alexandra), Andrew (Jessica), Michael (Miranda). George will be fondly remembered by his great grandchildren, sisters Pearl Akers, Helen Driver. Visitation will be held at Celebrations Inc., 35 Lindsay Street North, Lindsay on Thursday, December 30th from 11:00 a.m.until 2:00 p.m. A private family service to follow, with interment at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay.  Donations to an organization of your choice may be made at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay.  (705-328-2721)
