Gloria Maxine Sandke (nee James) passed away surrounded by her family at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, on Friday March 1st 2019 in her 80th year. Gloria, was the loving wife of Helmut Sandke for 56 years. She will be dearly missed by her children Barb (Peter Douglas) of Winnipeg, Connie (Ed Naylor) of Oshawa, David (Maria MacMillian) of Barrie. Gloria's memory will be cherished by her grandchildren Jordan, Katlyn, Megan (Jakob), Michael, Kirsten and Owen. Gloria lived on the family farm her entire life, working tirelessly as housewife and farm hand each and every day, retiring in her 65th year. Gloria loved her horses, camping, fishing, playing euchre and many word find books. Her first love and priority was her family. The family would like to thank the staff in the Ross Memorial Hospital ICU for their care. A special thank you to Dr. Unligil for his warmth and compassion. Family and friends are invited to call at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Monday March 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. also on Tuesday from 1:30 until time of funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday March 5 at 2:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay.
