Obituary for Grace Goodhand

Grace Julia Goodhand (Ritchie) went to be with the Lord on January 14th, 2023. Daughter of the late Warren and Greta (Webster) Ritchie. She was born and raised in the Chatham, Ontario area. After graduating from Central Baptist Seminary, she married and became the faithful and loving wife of Glen Goodhand of 64 years. Grace loved to sew, paint and help serve with her husband Glen in churches in Newmarket, Lyndock, Fenelon Falls, Cottam, Arnprior and Port Bolster. Grace also enjoyed spending many hours with her grandchildren swimming, painting, crafting and playing games especially while they stayed at their trailer at Pleasant Bay Family Camp. She was the loving mother of Jeff Goodhand (Marilyn), Linda McCutcheon (Bill), and Colleen Sedgwick (David).  She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Craig Goodhand (Alexandra), Joel Goodhand (Johanna), Colin Goodhand, Kayla Thibault (Matthew), Lindsay Rodgers, Meredith Sedgwick, Graham Sedgwick, and Garrett Sedgwick. She will also be missed by younger sister, Linda (Ritchie) Brackstone, sister-in-law’s Alva Wakeford, Mary Thompson, Eva McFaul (Bob) and brother-in-law Ivan Goodhand (Karen) and many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by her brother Arthur Ritchie (Verla), sister Charlotte Ritchie, Trudy Bresett (Keith) and brother-in-law’s, Mark Brackstone, Jack Wakefield and Delbert Thompson. A small, private service for family and friends will be held at Fairview Baptist Church on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 1:30pm. Donations to the Gideon Bible Society (Share Word Global) or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
