Grant Delmer Thurston, Entered into rest at Frost Manor on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the age of 89.  Beloved husband for 57 years to the late Barbara Joyce Wannamaker, only son of the late Delmer and Pearl (Brien) Thurston also predeceased by his grandsons Mike and Bryan.  Grant has been a farmer in Dunsford for his entire life continuing the family farm from the 1800's, was the Founder of Glenway Village, avid member of the Dunsford Community,  serving on many committees, Dunsford Community Center, Dunsford United Church.  He was charter member of Dunsford and District Lions Club, board member and insurance adjuster for Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. A loved father of  Lynn and Jim Garbutt and Steve and Kathy Thurston. Cherished grandfather of Stacey (Jeff) Dobson, Erin (Mike) McLinton, Chris also GG to Lucas and Briar, Genevieve, and Olivia.  Following cremation a private family service will be held at Mackey Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Dunsford Cemetery.   If desired memorial donations to the Dunsford Community Center (Click Here), Dunsford Food Bank (Donations via Kawartha Lakes Food Source - Click Here), or organization of your choice may be made through Mackey Funeral Home.
