Obituary

Obituary for Keith Stafford

Keith John Stafford
April 8 , 1941 – Feb 12,2020

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Keith at the age of 78. Born in Abertillery Wales son of John George and Florrie Stafford.

He will be sorely missed by his wife Barbara (Killick) Stafford ,daughter Andrea (Stafford) Ballingall and son in law Stacey. Also mourning his loss are sister in laws Judy Gleed (Steve) Jane Penner (Larry), nieces Amanda Tugwell (Mike), Glenda Penner and Nephew Avis Penner, and step- grandsons Dustin and Coty Ballingall.

Keith emigrated to Canada in 1966 to teach in Carrot River, Saskatchewan, moving to Ontario in 1968 where he taught for the York Region School Board at Park Ave P.S., Whitchurch Highlands P.S. and Rogers P.S. Due to his love of environmental education he took a leave to work for the TRCA as a on site supervisor at Claremont Field Center. Keith helped found the (now defunct) York Region Rugby Club, playing and refereeing. He also spent some time as Trail Director of the Oak Ridges Trail Association. On Retirement he loved walking the forests of Durham and York Region with his beloved dog Peggy Sue.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Oak Ridges Trail Association or the Brock Township Sick and Injured Animal Fund
