Obituary for Marion Wellman

February 7, 1928 – September 19, 2022

It is with profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Marion at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, with her family by her side. Marion was a dedicated and loving wife to the late Deane Wellman (predeceased) for over 60 years. Her children Margaret (predeceased) and Rick Matsui, and Dave Wellman (Carol) will miss her immensely. She was so proud of being a grandmother to 7 grandsons, Dustin (Kelly), Derrick (Aerin), Dane, Drew (Sadie), Dylan (Shelby) Wellman and Ian and Eric (Marianna) Matsui. Her great grandchildren, Ryder, Cash, Elliot, Wilder, Archer, Winslow and Luna were her pride and joy. She also was overjoyed to welcome step-grandchildren Jesse (Lindsay) and Melissa (Adam) and their children, Alexis, Madison, Hunter, Ayden, Andrew & Austin into the family. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family that meant the world to her. Marion grew up in Cameron and when married, settled on the outskirts of Omemee. Marion and Deane were very active with the Young Peoples Group and Sunday School with the Bethel United Church. Marion was also involved with the United Church Woman (UCW). She started her career as a school teacher, and once she became a mother, stayed home to be with them, but continued to serve her community and church in any way she could. She was always there to lend a helping hand to whomever needed it within the community. In later years she moved to Harmony Hills Retirement Residence in Oshawa where she formed some very special friendships. We know that she will be missed by many, but she always said that she had a wonderful life, and had no regrets. That in itself should be of comfort to all she loved and left behind. Visitation will be held on Monday September 26, 2022 at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay St. N., Lindsay at 10am. until time of service at 11am and followed by a reception. Interment will be at Emily Omemee Cemetery at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bethel Emily United Church would be appreciated by the family. Donations can be made by cheque at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay. Condolences can be made online at www.mackeys.ca
