Obituary for Mike Rainbird
Michael was born in Port Hope Ontario on August 4, 1963 to Shirley Rainbird and the late John Rainbird. He was the youngest of four boys. As you can imagine, it was a bustling home with four boys. Johnny, the oldest followed by Robbie and Dale. Mike learned much from his father and his brothers growing up in the wilds of Bewdley. Mike had a special spot in his heart for his mom and would tease her relentlessly.
Mike is the loving father to Tiffany Rainbird, Zachary (Jessica) Rainbird, Taylor Rainbird, Chantal Deneault and Danielle Deneault.
He is the proud grandfather to Montana, Silas, Zoey, Xander and Brody.
Mike is desperately missed by his partner in life and soul mate, Leah Deneault.
Mike was a great story teller and would often share stories of adventures with his many friends. Tales of cars in the forest, his time spent on the water both boating and water skiing. Mike was an avid sports enthusiast, he both played and coached many sports over the years. He loved music and as we all know, the louder the better!
He had what he viewed “his dream job” working at DCH in Whitby and was adored by all that knew him.
Mike moved to Lindsay in 2013 and was fortunate to spend his final days living in what he called his paradise on the shores of Lake Scugog.
Mike had many fur babies and they are missing their daddy terribly.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank-you to all of the nurses who helped Mike and his family navigate this short but difficult journey over the past few weeks. Dr. MacMillan, all of the special angels at the Ross Memorial Hospital Emergency Department and a special thank you for the exceptional care provided on the palliative unit. You all made this tragedy a little less tragic.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
