Simpson, Michael (Mike) - January 22, 1940 - May 12, 2022. In his 83rd year, Mike passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer. Survived by the love of his life Joan Simpson of 60 years, his four children Kim Simpson (Eric), Brian Simpson (Adrienne), Kerri Daley (Mike) and Karen Spearing (Tim). Cherished Grandpa of Jennifer Tempelman (Caleb), Zachary Tempelman (Alyssa), Bayley Simpson, Ryan Daley (Melissa) and Tyler Daley. Cherished Papa to great grandson, Jack Berry.  Dear brother of Peggy (Graham) and Peter (Liz) – Predeceased by his brothers, Gerry and Tony and parents Frank and Emily. Mike immigrated to Canada with his family from England when he was 14, settling in Peterborough before later moving his young family to Lindsay in 1970.  Mike’s love for his family was undeniable.  He was always there with his love and support no matter who needed it or what it was for.  Mike will be remembered for his love of hockey and unwavering support for his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.  On any winter day, you could find Mike at the arena cheering on his kids, grandkids and great grandson no matter how early the game was!  Mike and Joan were long time members of the Peterborough and area Bridge Club. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  If desired, donations can be made to the Peterborough Regional Cancer Centre who so lovingly cared for him during his short battle with cancer.
