Obituary for Dick Green
Green, Richard Henry Joseph “Dick” – (MWO Ret., CD, 1961-1992)
Passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on Tuesday, October 29th at the age of 78. Loving father of Dallas Green (Sally Evans), Kerri Green and Jodi Green. Cherished Papa of Wyatt Hayward and Braiden Howes. Dick is predeceased by his parents Richard (1994) and Hildred Green (1998). Dear brother of Sandra McInnis (Pat), Susan Russell (Ed), and Terry Green. Dick will be fondly missed and remembered by Sharon Green, nieces, nephew, extended family and friends.
Dick’s greatest accomplishment was his career in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Combat Engineer. Dick was an original member of the Kawartha Kavaliers (1957) which he kept close to his heart, returning to them after his retirement from the Military in 1992. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and ability to make others smile with an amazing sense of humor.
Visitation will take place at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Saturday, November 2nd from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place in the chapel on Sunday, November 3rd at 3:15 p.m. Legion Members are to assemble at 3:00 p.m. If desired, a memorial donation to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 67 – Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family.
