Obituary for Robert Coleman

Robert “Bob” Strachan Coleman passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday, August 18, 2023 at age 84. Beloved spouse of Gina, dearest father of Johnathan and Christina, wonderful father-in law of Kathleen, and treasured grandfather of Laura, Robert, Rebecca and Sebastian, Bob leaves us all with much sadness but also with amazing memories of a life well lived. A highly respected teacher and coach at Upper Canada College in Toronto for thirty-six years, Bob had a keen interest in physics, astronomy, and a passion for learning in general that endured all his life. Born in Montreal QC and growing up in Saint John NB, Bob graduated from Saint John High School (1956), earned his B.Sc. from Bishop’s University (1961), and M.Ed. from University of Toronto (1970). After retiring, Bob and Gina moved from Toronto to Cameron ON in 1998 and enjoyed 25 years together at their beautiful property on Robin Road. Bob and Gina moved to the welcoming community of Rivermill in Lindsay last year. Bob loved being outdoors, skiing, curling, boating, animals, travel, and above all, his family. We will all miss him tremendously. Services will be held at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Saturday, August 26 at 1:00pm. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes and Amnesty International. Donations may be made by cheque through the funeral home or online at www.mackeys.ca
