When Uniroyal closed, Bob started his own Sales and Marketing Agency. This venture proved to be very successful and suited Bob's cheerful and gregarious personality. Bob enjoyed his work and worked very hard at it. As business grew Bev joined Bob in the company and they worked together, travelling throughout Ontario, until retirement at age 60. Making many friends along the way. Bob enjoyed 18 summers at one of his favourite places, the cottage on Lake Kashagawigamog in Haliburton. He enjoyed boating, entertaining and relaxing with family and friends. He loved walking in the woods, the birds and animals. Bob had a lively, friendly, outgoing personality and always enjoyed matching wit with others. Many will never forget his limericks and one liners as a teenager.

Upon retiring, Bob and Bev moved to Victoria Place, Bobcaygeon. Where he was an active member of Trinity United Church. He devoted much time to Two Friends For Life, a Canadian Food for Children Charity. Bob also enjoyed his cribbage games and a good game of Hand and Foot. During this time Bob and Bev travelled to Ireland, Europe, Florida, California, Arizona and spent some winters in South Carolina. Bob was very proud of his grandchildren. He always enjoyed following all their adventures and activities.
