Judy, Joy and I are devastated to learn of Bud's passing last weekend. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and all of Clan Melless. We share in your grief. I've known Bud for only about nine years, but he feels like a life-long friend. At first our only shared interest was in Colt Firearms, but as our friendship warmed, Bud became so much more. He was my go-to confidante for shooting, the law, wildlife and rugged living, culture, and all things Canadian. You shall be missed, O Great Northern Warrior.

Bud called me, the morning of his last day, to check on me. Unfortunately, I had been admitted to the hospital that week. It cheered me to hear his voice when I finally got home. I wish I had been able to talk with him. He was that way; more concerned about a dear friend than himself. He was kind and thoughtful, fiercely protective and a true and honorable man. I will miss my friend deeply.
