Obituary for Bob Phillips

Robert "Bob" Phillips
Passed away at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay on Feb. 12, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Our hearts are full and empty at the same time. Bob leaves his loving wife of 55 years Deirdre (Dee).

He will be remembered by his 7 children - Lisa, Jenifer, Shannon (Andy), Sara (Stephen), Kristin, Jim (Stephanie) and Michael (Kattie) and predeceased by his son Tom. They and his grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of so much joy. He was grateful for every day.

He loved his family, flying, sailing, music, fine whisky and all things Balsam Lake, the above not always in the same order.

He was born in Truro Nova Scotia and raised near Coboconk at Cedar Villa Lodge which his father built.

Bob earned his private pilot license when he was 16 and was fortunate to make that his career with Air Canada. He made sure that opportunity and his love of travel was appreciated and part of all our education.

We love you Robert and will miss you always. RIP dear Captain Bob and may your next journey be joyful.

A private family gathering was held with a Celebration of Bob's life to be planned later in this year. Interment of his remains will take place at Coboconk Cemetery. If desired memorial donations to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice may be made at Mackey Funeral Home or online at www.mackeys.ca
