Robert James “Munroe” Scott - Passed away peacefully at his Adelaide Place Residence on September 15th, 2019 at the age of 92. Loving husband of the late Hilda Mary Davison, Munroe was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a great friend to many. He dedicated his life to his family and to his writing. Munroe is the loving father of David Scott (Janet), Ian Scott (Marnie) and Dr. Rob Scott (Krista). Cherished grandfather of Michael, Kendra, Caitlin, Ryland and Donny. Great grandfather to Clayton, Foster and Fletcher. Munroe will be fondly remembered by his dear friend Ivy Szobonya and her family in Oceanside California. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service/celebration of life, will take place at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay Street North, Lindsay, on Saturday, October 26th at 1:00 pm, followed by a reception until 4:00 p.m. If desired, a memorial donation to Prostate Cancer Canada would be appreciated by the family and may be made at Mackey Funeral Home, Peel Street Lindsay or online at wwww.mackeys.ca. Grace Brown

Hi to Munroe’s family,
I am so sorry to hear about Munroe’s passing. He had such a special place in my sister Julie & my hearts. Munroe & my Dad (Quentin Brown) knew each other for about 50 years. I know your dad had a wonderful long life, but I’m sure you miss him a lot. So many great memories. I’m not sure if you will get this note. Just want you to know that Julie & I are sad today. What a fabulous, wonderful, creative, intelligent and fun friend.
All my best,
Grace Brown

Thank you for your rich contributions to Canadian literature and filmmaking, Munroe. Such an interesting life well lived, and many people touched by your generosity and talent, me among them, dear friend and mentor.

Mary Lou Dodd

My condolences to the Scott family in the passing of Munroe. I had the pleasure of meeting him in October, 2018 when travelling through Beaverton. My husband and I wished to view my 2nd cousin Lloyd Scott’s grave as well as Great Aunts Jean and Lu Dodd. He was kind enough to squire us around to the Beaverton Cemetary and short tour of the area and of course see Lloyd’s old log house that I grew up seeing on his drawings and paintings. I could see the family resemblance he had to Lloyd. He was an absolute gentleman and the world is a poorer place with his loss.
