Ronald “Ron” George Shillington was a man who truly appreciated, embraced, and valued the simplest of pleasures in life: time with his family, the sounds of nature surrounding his lakeside home, and showing his love and devotion through acts of service. After a courageous–and all too swift–battle with leukaemia, he left this physical world on Friday, June 10th, 2022.

Like him, we will continue to embrace the simple pleasures, holding him close to our hearts forever.  

He will be so very missed, remembered, and celebrated by his loving wife Janet Shillington, his three children, Christopher Shillington, Ashley Shillington, and Victoria Arnold and son-in-law Mark Arnold, his grandkids Benjamin Arnold and Harrison Arnold, as well his siblings Richard Shillington, Judy Lord, and Barbra Zacchigna.

To honour this wonderful man we called “Hun”, “Dad”, “Papa”, “Brother”, and “Friend”, a funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17th at 1:00pm at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay Street North, Lindsay, Ontario; visitation and hugs beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family, alternatively, please consider donating blood as Ron was the recipient of many blood transfusions from generous donors throughout his battle with leukemia.
