Obituary for Ron Smith
Ronald “Ron” Allan Smith – Lost his long and brave fight on Wednesday August 16th, 2023 at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. Ron was the Captain of the Toronto Fire Department for over 30 years from 1964 to 1994. Beloved husband to Joanne Smith (nee Brown) for more than 60 years and cherished father to Mark Alan Smith and James Wesley Smith. Ron is survived by his siblings Darlene, Barbara and Michael. He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. Ron gave a lifetime of service to others including being a part of the Toronto Firefighters Credit Union and President of the board of the condominium corporation of where he resided for 18 years. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
