Obituary for Rose Losinski

Rose Marie Losinski (née Santone) passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on January 5th, 2022.  Rose will be sorely missed by her husband of 57 years, Ron, along with her three children; Christine (Lorne), Deanna (Chris), and Raffy (Trevor).

Nanny’s sense of humour and fun-loving spirit was always a source of joy for her grandchildren; Stephanie (Matt), Alana (Carter), Nicholas (Emily), Matthew (Ann-Marie), Kyle (Emily), and Jamie.  Rose became a great-grandmother on December 18, 2021, with the birth of her first great-grandchild, Jackson.

Rose Marie was born in 1943 to Angelo and Amelia (née Lostracco) Santone in Welland, Ontario.  Rose Marie spent her childhood, along with her siblings, Gloria (Rod), Joseph (Angie predeceased), Peter (Lorraine), and her many Lostracco/Santone cousins, learning the value of hard work and the importance of family.  At the age of 18, she met the love of her life, Ron. They married in 1964 leading to a match made in Heaven.  Together, they raised their family in Markham, Uxbridge, and later retired to Lindsay, Ontario.  Rose was full of life and passion which contributed to her many accomplishments including a long-standing career with Knoll Pharmaceuticals.  Rose loved physical fitness, travelling the world, old-time rock n’ roll, and “pretty things”.  Whether it be on the dance floor at a wedding or a simple social gathering, Rose lit up the room.  Despite being diagnosed with Dementia in 2012, Rosie taught those around her how to laugh, dance, sing and enjoy the simpler things in life.

Our family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Community Care Adult Day Program and Fenelon Court LTC for the kind and loving care Rose received over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kawartha Lake Community Care Adult Day Program.  A private celebration of Rose’s life will take place at a later date. Donations and condolences may be made through the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay or online at www.mackeys.ca
