Obituary for Sharon Elizabeth Gehmair (North)
It is with great sadness that the family of SHARON ELIZABETH GEHMAIR (nee NORTH), announce the passing of Sherry at the age of 69. Her precious life ended all too soon on October 18, 2023, at Peterborough Hospice.
Sharon was the much-loved stepmother of Amber (Kendra) and Brandon (Erin); and Nan to Dylan, Oliver, Adrienne and Lennon. She was the youngest daughter of the late Alice and Norman North of Bobcaygeon, Ontario. She will forever be the treasured sister of Marilyn (Steve), Carolyn (Gary), and Norman (Susan) and the fun-loving aunt of Matthew (Christine), Michelle (Dave), Tom (Nicole), Linda (Jeff) and great aunt to Shea, Alice, Abigail, Wesleigh, Catherine, Mae Alice, Lillian, Ivy and Norman.
Sharon was kind, loving, fun, interesting, and had the strength to face any challenges placed before her. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed travelling, walking, being outdoors, scuba diving, relaxing in her lovely home and backyard, and most of all, hanging out with her family and friends.
Sharon was an amazing teacher and taught computer applications at Sir Sandford Fleming College (Fleming College) in Peterborough for years. She inspired many students to do better and their best.
Sharon will be truly missed by her family, friends and all others who crossed paths with her over the years. Her kindness and resilience will always be remembered.
A family and close friend service was held at Riverside Cemetery in Lindsay, Ontario.
