Obituary for Terry Teal

Terrance Ross Teal, in his 68th year passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. Terry was born in Cobourg on May 5, 1951 to Russell and Helen Teal. Loving partner to Cathie Hawery, father to Brad (Janette), Allison (Bob), Steve (Beth), and stepfather to Jodie (Gerald), and Shane (Tara). Grandpa Terry was adored by his loving grandchildren, Jaxson, Lauren, Carter, Logan, Quintin, Griffin, Oliver, Miller and Estella. His life’s passion was building – having built houses, schools, curling clubs, cottages and many other structures throughout southern Ontario and the Kawarthas. His adventurous spirit led him to enjoy all that nature has to offer, from canoeing and camping to skiing some of the greatest peaks in North America. Terry loved to go “on tour” and a friendly hello would often turn into sharing stories for hours. Terry truly was a master of all trades and he will forever be remembered as one of a kind. Family and friends are invited to Terry’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Days Inn & Suites (Hart Room), 134 Angeline Street South, Lindsay. If desired, memorial donations can be made in Terry’s honour to Kawartha Wildlife Centre at: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/kawartha-wildlife-centre/#donate-now-pane or
Ross Memorial Hospital at: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/12088.

To Cathie, Brad, Allison,Steve & families. So very sorry to hear of Terry's passing. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. I am Terry's first cousin on the Teal side. I remember Terry as a little boy hiding behind a chair when we came to visit, on Parliament Street, then finally coming out to play with us. RIP Terry.

Els Wintels

My condolence to Dear Cathie, children and grandchildren.

I, as a neighbor, never seen Terry grumpy, on the contrary,
while out there working away, he was always singing or whistling,
That put a smile on my face. Or the way he talked and interact with his grandchildren or animals around us, put a smile on my face as well.
Indeed Terry was one very special man.
Way too young to have to leave his beautiful family.
I will sure miss your happy sounds around here.
