Valera Eveleen Mumford (née Lewis)

Passed away at home in the early morning hours of February 9, 2022 in her 91st year, surrounded by family and with dad’s music playing softly in the background. Beloved wife of the late Ross Mumford. Cherished mother of Debra Thistlethwaite (John), Kevin Mumford (Donna), and Dana Mumford (Jayne).

Grandma will be remembered by her five grandchildren, Leah Berry, Tyler Mumford (deceased), Curtis Mumford (Dana), Shannon Mumford (Lorraine), and Amber Mumford. Proud GG of Hailey, Alisha, James, Jacob, Chase, Lukas, Julia, Kodey and Konnor.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and care givers who provided the care and compassion that allowed mom to pass at her home with peace and dignity.

On Thursday, February 24th, a short graveside service will be held at the Rosemount Memorial Gardens, 2551 Whittington Dr, Peterborough at 1:00p.m. followed by a drop in memorial reception at the Omemee Legion, 46 King St E, Omemee beginning at 2:00p.m. Covid-19 protocols will be in place at both locations, however proof of vaccination will be required to attend the gathering at the Legion. Guests are invited to both or the one of their choice.
