Obituary

Obituary for Victor Hill

Hill, Victor Ellis - Passed away at Mackenzie Health, Richmond Hill on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at the age of 79. After 54 years of marriage, he leaves behind "the catch of his life" Shirley. Proud and loving father to his son Deron (Crystal), and his daughter Vicki (Dan Whitaker). His two grandsons Toby and Jesse are out in the world working and looking to pursue further interests. His two granddaughters Ashley and Rachel are avid readers taking after their Gramps. He is survived by his sister Gloria (Sy Connell), and predeceased by his sister Marilyn. Separated by 39 days, Victor leaves behind his lifetime friend Don Sanguine and his wife Pat. They were like two peas in a pod. Also mourning the loss of Victor is his dog "Buck". Cremation has taken place. Victor lived his life simply, therefore a "very informal" gathering will take place at the Valentia Church and Community Centre, 106 Elm Tree Road, Little Britain on September 14th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to share stories of Victor will have the opportunity at 3:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes or your charity of choice. Donations and condolences may be made through Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay, or online at www.mackeys.ca

So many memories & good times of years of hunting, fishing, baseball, & even nights of playing cards. Also our badass tours after baseball tournaments when we got a free breakfast..!😂 The dance floor was always Victor’s, cause he never sat down..! Unable to attend Victor’s Celebration of Life, but our thoughts & prayers are with you Shirley & Family at this difficult time..! 💔 Cherish the Memories..! Tyler Jenkins & Family
Shirley, Vicki, Hilly and families sorry to hear of Vic's passing. I have some great memories as a young boy around the village. I recall Vic passing by the house heading home with his canoe in the truck, us kids would run up the street just to see how big that days muskie was. Feeding the hounds in the kennel out back or just listening to Vic's wisdom about hunting and fishing, always had time for the kids around the village! I remember watching in awe as a teenager when he swept up the dance floor at the community center and the many years playing hockey at the rink with or against Vic...even in his vintage years he was a fierce competitor! Thanks for the memories Vic.

Vic was a real gentleman who really enjoyed playing hockey and I will miss his stories while sitting on the arena bench beside him in the Bobcaygeon arena waiting for our line change to come up. Vic was a true sportsman. Condolences to Shirley and the rest of the family.
