Vince Salvador “Vinny” December 15th, 1964 - June 3rd, 2020 Always a bright shining Northern Star guiding us on this path of life. Survived by his girls: wife Colleen, daughters Sarah, Alanah and Lindsay. Forever loved Grandpa “Pawpaw” and deeply admired by his little grandson Eldon Grey.
Son of Lucy and Bruno, Sibling to Brenda, Debbie, Paul. He had a special kind of love for all of our Northern family. A beloved family man of all aspects and a treasured hunting and fishing buddy. A true outdoors man, avid hunter and fisherman. Dads heart traveled between home in Hartley and The Hunt Camp. A lover of good food and Sunday night family dinner. A man of many lessons. Self educated, skilled in all trades. Able to build and repair everything. Retiree of General Motors, Oshawa and member of the Carpenters Union. Dad had a passion of dedicating his time as a small town volunteer Fireman. For you Dad, I will paddle my own canoe and clear my own trail. For you Dad, I will “work hard, not smart” (haha love Lanny). For you Vince, any bridge can be crossed. For you, the best is yet to come. Forever and always our hero. Love “The Girls” and Eldon xxxxox

My heart is broken for Colleen and the girls. You lost a great husband, great father and great grandfather and I know how proud he was of all of you. Every inch of success his girls had, he would always tell me how proud he was of them, from graduating to getting good jobs and for being so independent. My heart is broken because I lost one of my best friends, who even in not good health, was more worried about me than himself. Would always call me and put me upt to date on everything that I should kow. Im going to miss my buddy, that always invited me to his hunting camp, inviting me to go ice fishing and every place he would go. I'm going to miss the so many times he would come to Oshawa, him coming to see me and we would sit on my porch chatting, I'm gonna miss him telling me to get out of the city and move to the country and enjoy the outdoors. Im gonna miss that friend that was never afraid of anything, always had a solution to every problem and could fix everything. I have a lot of good memories of Vinny, but one that I will always remember and treasure is when a few months ago, with not too long to live, after a day of ice fishing and catching nothing, we came by his house and he got his snowmobile out and and his wife's and we both went on them around his property and him being afraid of me hitting a tree and killing myself, with reason, he told me to go in the front and he would watch out for me. After I felt comfortable, I told him to go ahead, so he did, and while i did one turn around the property, he did about 20. He was going so fast and having fun, that I couldn't help laughing how fast he was going and the stuff he was doing on the snowmobile, so i Stopped, got off and video taped him. I tried to upload the video but it's a little bit too big.
I will forever cherish the memories. Rest in Peace Buddy.

Your best friend,
Tony Desousa
