Obituary for Doug Maddock

Douglas Maddock 1932-2022

With a hole in my heart, I announce the passing of my precious husband Doug “Maddy” on Wednesday November 16th. A very special loving man towards his wife Dawn for sixty-three years. Loving father and advisor towards his daughter Cory-Lee (Bob) and Son Denny (Angela). A special Papa for grandsons Ryan and Trevor, great grandfather to three beautiful girls Emma, Alexis and Sloane, and I great grandson Rowan. Doug made his living for his family for thirty-eight years at General Motors, while making a home in Oshawa to start his family. On retirement we moved back to Lindsay, our roots; where Doug decided to dedicate his free time to long distance driving for Community Care which he did for ten years. Doug was 80 years old when he decided to spend more time at home with his wife. Doug was raised in Valentia which is close to Lindsay. He was raised as an only child of George and Joy and spent much of his life on his grandparent’s farm just outside the village. He became an excellent baseball player and he and his wife enjoyed watching the blue jays in the bleachers long before the dome was built, the “good old days”. Keeping with Doug’s wishes, there will be no service. If you wish, donations can be made to the SickKids Foundation, War Amps, Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes or charity of your choice.

How long will I love you? Only always!

Rest my darling rest.
