June 24, 1952 - August 10, 2022
Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 10th at Kingston General hospital from a heart attach/stroke.  Loving husband of 49 years and soulmate of Debbie (née McLaughlin); cherished father to Kathy Johnson (Brian Hodgson); and David.  Extra special grandfather of Madelyn & Malcolm Johnson.  Lovingly remembered by his siblings, Dave, Lloyd, Wilma (John Bloye), Jim (Darlene), Ed (Mike), John Duke (Darlene), and Burt (Sandy).  Dearly missed by his sister-in-law Renee McLaughlin and many nieces, nephews, family & friends.  Pre-deceased by his parents James & Margaret McDonnell; sister-in-law, Karen Usher; brother-in-law, Douglas McLaughlin.

Bill had a special talent for his building skills striving for perfection at all times.  He started out with home framing in the 70's, then building & contracting, and finally settling into installing windows & doors.  He was in his glory when he was working, and helping many family & friends with their special building projects.  He always had a plan of action, building his own homes in Newcastle, Valentia, south Valentia and finally Lindsay.  The past year we could see the joy he had in renovating the family cottage which he just finished. He has continued on helping others by donating his organs & tissue through the Trillium Health Foundation - many lives will be saved/changed.

Family & friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life service to take place on Friday, Aug. 19, 2022 at Valentia Church & Community Centre at 11:00am followed by a luncheon in the lower hall.  Internment will take place at Lakeside South Valentia. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation & condolences can be made through the Mackey Funeral home, 33 Peel St., Lindsay to Trillium Health Partners Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or an organization of your choice.
