Our Facility

Mackey Funeral Home is the largest funeral care facility within a 45 kilometer radius of Lindsay. An expansion and renovation created a spacious and contemporary setting. Facility features include a large, welcoming lobby and reception area. There are several connected rooms which can be configured to allow for large or small groups. The facility is equipped to accommodate special needs. Separate meeting rooms, a respite area, and other conveniences are available on-site. The funeral home is wheelchair accessible.

Mackey Funeral Home is non-denominational and serves most beliefs, cultures, or lifestyle needs. The premises houses the only consecrated chapel in a locally operated funeral care facility. Up to 80 people can be accommodated in the chapel, which is equipped for traditional Catholic, Protestant, or other services. Appealing decor, fine furnishings, and pleasing accents augment the amenities. Throughout the facility, comfort and style prevail.

Visitation Rooms

Our visitation rooms have been tastefully decorated to ensure comfort and serenity at the time of a loss. Designed to be flexible in their use, our visitation rooms can accommodate everything from a traditional period of visitation - to a more contemporary memorial visitation - to a private family service, or even a celebration of life.

Our Chapel

Although our chapel is not intended to compete against the reverence and respect of the church, it has been tastefully designed as an option for those who do not wish a formal church setting. Conveniently located within the funeral home, it provides a dignified setting for family, friends and the community to gather together and pay tribute to the deceased.

The Chapel was constructed in 1938 by the Wagstaff Bricks and local contractors.  Linden's grandfather recognized the need for a facility to honour the life of the deceased.  Antique lighting and glass create a comfortable setting for any type of funeral or memorial service.  Our chapel can accommodate 80 people comfortably.  For larger services we have additional seating in our family room and throughout the funeral home; these rooms have sound and visual abilities so that the service can be heard and seen still.

Reception Area

Our reception area can provide a convenient setting for a time of fellowship and light refreshments after the funeral service. This is a particularly thoughtful gesture to those who must travel some distance after the funeral.

Family Lounge

Our lounge area can provide a convenient space for family members to go visit, either for a coffee, tea, water, or to simply take a break. The lounge can also be set up with food if desired during visiting or the service, and can also be used as a place to set up young children away from the commotion.
