Hockey Games

I very fondly remember as a young girl Dad sitting in his recliner watching the hockey game and wanting to watch the game with him so badly but watching hockey made me sleepy. I would ask " Dad can i watch the game with you" and he always said yes even knowing what was actually going to happen. I would stretch out on the very long sofas back then and he would say dont you fall asleep there full knowing that as i lay facing the back of the couch thinking i was fooling him by pretending i was tracing the indents in the couch. i wasnt watching the game anymore. Even though he always knew that was going to happen i would be woken up in the most quiet and gentle way to be led lovingly to fall back asleep in my bed upstairs. He always forgave those nights that i fell asleep just wanting to sit quietly with him, he knew that was the reason and the hockey an excuse. Always a gentle, loving and forgiving man and i will miss him deeply, until we meet again to watch that hockey game Dad but i cant guarentee i wont fall asleep knowing i am sharing a quiet moment with you.

All my love Suzanne
