Condolence: I was saddened when my brother Phil let me know of George's transition from this existence. May his journey be gentle, and his destination be peaceful and loving. I have many wonderful youthful memories of Sweetnam family reunions when both George and Lee's families made much of the story telling, caring, sharing and merriment.

You have my heart felt empathy during this time of shift and change to life. I do not know what you are all feeling as every relationship has its own unique aspects. I do know about loss, grief and sadness. I pray that you feel fully supported as you process what is important to you, for what ever time you need. There will be many challenging firsts without George yet knowing that you are fully loved will get you through, so will memories.

Wherever you find yourselves, may that space, as well as all those you love and care for, be your sanctuary at this time of transition and healing. Blessings

Condolence: Our sympathy to the Sweetnam family. We have such warm memories of New Liskeard, the contribution of your family to the community, and the crazy happenings on Mary Street.

I played with George in the NLHS Band for a bit, and my mother Mary, who is still with us at 102, taught for NLPS and Herb for many years. She also wishes to be remembered to you all.

Such a fine and positive man. We are so sorry that you have lost him to the stars.

Condolence: Dear Marian, Steven, Nancy and Peter,
I am so very sorry to hear that George passed away this month. I have fond memories of him (and all of you!) from the Commonwealth Games. I hope that you'll find comfort in many happy memories and family stories of the adventures and good times you shared.

Condolence: To Marion and family. Please accept my sincere condolence on your loss. I had hoped to see George during the 50th U of G 66 reunion in June which I attended. I have fond memories of our time at U of G and a trip that George and Don Brown made to my boyhood home in Nolalu, Ontario.

Condolence: To Marian and family – we are thinking of you at this sad time. We have so many wonderful memories of George – he was a man who knew how to enjoy life and prioritized his efforts accordingly. The driveway may have needed to be shovelled, but nary a snowflake was out of place on the bobsled run! Our grown children still remember the “submarine” ride behind the boat at the cottage. George had a sense of humour and spread the gift of laughter wherever he went. We regret that we let distance and busy schedules interfere with making more memories. But we will always cherish the times we had together.
