Patti, Sue, Trudy and Family - I am so sorry for your loss. Marie was an extremely special woman. Over the last four years, Marie and I spent many Saturday mornings together and I was so lucky to experience her kindness and witty personality. Saturday mornings will always hold a special place in my heart because Saturday's were for my Marie. I will mess her dearly.

Sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Although we had lost touch, I have many great memories of visiting your mom and dad when our family visited Ontario, and also when she was in Weyburn visiting her parents. I especially appreciated her hospitality when we visited in their home. One favourite memory is a boat trip out on the lake. If I remember right, your mom and dad took the four of us by boat to an old time fiddle festival in Bobcaygeon with a picnic lunch along the way. That was something that us kids growing up in Saskatchewan had never experienced before!

Marie holds a special place in my heart. In the 80s, when I was learning to live life as it is, she and Jack showed me great kindness.

Once as we drove along, Jack and I were engaged is an argument about something trivial but as we were both bull headed, neither one of us would back down. Marie was quietly sitting and knitting in the back of the car and said, “you know, there's a little saying that might help and that is 'Is it really that important'! That simple statement has helped me keep life in perspective ever since.

Jack told me the things I needed to hear and Marie supplied the balance and kindness. Thank you and bless you.
