Obituary for Verna Joyce Carslake (Hurd)

CARSLAKE; V. Joyce ~ Entered into rest on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Butternut Manor, Uxbridge at the age of 92. Joyce Carslake (nee Hurd) was the beloved wife of William C. Carslake for 72 loving years. Loving mother of April Spoorenberg (deceased), Cindy Harper, Laurie Girard (Roger) and Bill (Fay). Lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchild. Dear sister of Jean Reardon (the late Owen) and Phyllis Whalen, and predeceased by Shirley Stice (Warren), Betty Champion (the late Reg and the late Allan). Joyce will be remembered for her many endevaours that included pie making, her seamstress skills that included many beautiful quilts and her passion on the golf course where she made a hole-in-one. Visitation will be held at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Wednesday, December 31st from 10:00a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The service will follow in the chapel at 12:00pm. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kawartha Lakes Food Source would be appreciated by the family.Online donations and condolences may be made at www.mackeys.ca.
